Spiritual Direction

Spiritual Direction is the art of hospitality and discernment.  It is a place of sacredness and safety where one can enter and leave their persona at the door to be themselves without the worry of judgment or disapproval.  It is a place where the stranger’s gifts are honored, can flourish and where hearts are opened to receive. 

Spiritual Direction is a journey one takes with a desire to explore having a deeper relationship with the spiritual aspect of being human.  Within each of us lies the desire to find meaning beyond the moment…to discover our true selves…to grow closer to God and to one another.  In the midst of a busy life, many people find it difficult to notice God’s action and presence in their daily affairs.  Prayer and meditation are distant pastimes.  Yet, at the deepest level, all of us long for a more conscious experience of God’s presence and love.

Spiritual Direction is a discerning process that takes one into the mystery of their soul, their inner being, and an awareness of the voice of God.  It is about sharing sacred stories and having someone sit in reverence listening and receiving this sacred story.  After a session, one can expect to:

• find themselves desiring to experience silence,
• a deepening of their desire to know God and themselves,
• a desire to experience prayer, contemplation and reflection,
• find meaning to their life,
• freedom and joy, and
• a greater connection to the global village and to the earth.

In a Spiritual Direction session Debra walks beside and accompanies her clients on their spiritual journey attuned to their sacred story and the presence of God.  She will accompany clients on their discernment process helping them to notice and understand the movements of desolation and consolation in their lives.  Her compassion and caring nature is evident in her approach and presence.  Spiritual Direction is a journey of conscious attunement to the Inner Dwelling.  It is for all faiths.  It encompasses creativity, holiness and grace.  It is the art of Transformation and walking your own seven storey mountain.
