Frequently
Asked Questions
What
is spirituality and why is it necessary to life?
Spirituality is woven between every
cell of your body. It is the air you breathe, your
culture, the clothes you wear, the friends you have, the
environment you live in. It is your beliefs, your attitudes,
your creativity, and your faith. In other words it
is all about you. When you have a healthy spirituality
you realize you are enough and that you have enough and that
consumerism is a dis-ease that no longer haunts you. You
become aware and are attuned to the fact that your thoughts
and feelings affect every cell in your body.
How will spiritual psychotherapy
help me in my life journey?
Spiritual
psychotherapy, unlike psychotherapy, is not limited to
physical or personality problems. It recognizes
the past limitations of one’s journey and invokes in
an individual the unlimited essence of one’s growth
of divine potentiality. Spirituality psychotherapy
is a holistic process that integrates the body, mind, and
spirit. It has the ability and is designed to bring
one into a state of balance and harmony. This in turn
brings one to become aware of their own personal empowerment,
becoming conscious of the space they occupy on the planet,
operating from a place of peace and wisdom. Spiritual
psychology is an integration of contemporary psychology and
emotional healing, esoteric principles and ancient spiritual
wisdom. It enables one to remain centered amidst the
chaos that surrounds them. Spirituality psychotherapy
takes one on an inner quest into their Inner Dwelling to
release and break free of the years of multi-layered fragmentation
between power, control and release, pain and freedom,
hope and despair, struggle and transformation. One
becomes wise living in a state of consciousness aware of
the powerful choices they are making that will help them
to ascend to beings of powerful positive energy. Spiritual
psychotherapy improves one’s skills recognizing the
voice of their own intuition. It awakens one to reclaim
their own personal power. It helps one to heal and
have hope and to travel through the struggles and hardships
into the process of complete transformation.
The root
or core of the word psychology (psyche) translates into
soul or spirit in the Greek language and for many years
psychology was thought to be the study of the soul. As
civilization evolved through the changing epochs many philosophers,
psychiatrists and scientists redefined the meaning of soul. In
time the sacred psyche of a person, their soul, was fragmented
and divided into three parts. A person’s mind
was to be dealt with by psychiatrists and psychologists or
psychotherapists. The body was to be dealt with by
doctors and surgeons and the soul was left to the religious
powers. It is only recently that researchers, educators
and some medical professionals are becoming aware of the
fact that when one dimension of a person’s being is
affected all dimensions are affected. Doctors and researchers
are finally admitting that the soul (the whole person) must
be considered in the healing process. There can no longer
be separateness of those dimensions. In order to heal
it is imperative that all dimensions are taken into consideration
when treatment is applied
Why do I need to awaken my spiritual dimension?
It is essential to awaken your
spiritual dimension because you are spirit! What
motivates you? The human
body is not just mind and body. It is spiritual too. It
is the ability to see the world symbolically and to know
we are all unique and sacred. It’s knowing that
everyone has an identity that goes beyond his or her driver’s
license. To awaken one’s spiritual dimension
will assist one in recognizing their skills and gifts and
how they can use these to be of service to themselves and
others and to the world. When awakened one will realize
and know that freedom and liberation come from an empowerment
of the soul and not from money and societal power.
What are the reasons silence, solitude, and stillness are
important for my soul?
In order to live in a higher state
of consciousness and awareness these are necessary for
your soul. They give
your soul stamina. Why would you be afraid to spend
time alone in stillness and in silence? This will help
you to discern and answer questions such as, “Where
am I going, What is important to me, whose voice makes decisions
for me, and who controls my soul?”
What is the reason for reaching a higher state of consciousness?
In a higher state of consciousness
you will realize that in order to help others and the earth
one must be whole and healthy. You
will realize that the earth and our health are our most valued
treasures we have. You will realize that your words
and language have the ability to hinder or enhance another
person. You will realize your thoughts become actions
and you will understand that we are all connected. We
are all “One.” We are here to be of service
to each other.
What does Debra mean by sacredness to life?
Life is to be lived to the fullest. Life is about
being of service to another. It is about being a role
model for children and others. It is about learning
how to best protect and serve the earth. Life is to
be lived with a knowing that happiness is an inside job and
no money in the world can buy humility, empowerment, or wisdom. Sacredness
is knowing you are very valuable to all. It is knowing
the history we live and leave behind will help others to
learn and to grow toward a global knowing that we are all
connected—We are one with the Universe
