Day of Silence

When we practice contemplation the puzzling reflections of human limitation fade away.  In the busyness of every day life and being pulled in many directions this is an opportunity to step back, retreat into a day of silence, a day of contemplation.  Take this time to relax, participate in mediation, experience a session in spiritual direction, energy healing and de-toxification.  Then spend the rest of the day sitting in silence, praying with color, or walking the mountain trails, breathing the fresh air and feeling the miracle of life.  Communicate with nature and the wildlife.  Decrease the stress and feel the freedom and liberation that a day in silence, solitude and stillness can do for your soul and your spirit. 

It is in silence where you are able to listen to your heart and in turn it will guide you to where your soul resides and where your truths are found.  Silence forces one to go inward, to go deeper, to be with your thoughts and see where they navigate to.  It is an opportunity to see the world through contemplative glasses.  Meister Eckhart a Christian mystic describes silence as a “need to withdraw occasionally to maintain one’s integral connection to the Divine within.”

Being in silence is learning a discipline.  It is the discipline of wisdom and of consciousness.  It is in silence that one is able to listen to the voice of their soul, their spirit and God.
